Latest crocheted creation: Strawberry Inspired Convertible Fingerless Glittens/Moves!
Yarn is Stitch Nation by Debbie Stoller (Available at JoAnn Fabs or www.stitchnationyarn.com) I really like their funky selection of colors and fibers and all are very affordable.
The red is her “Aplaca Love” wool/alpaca blend in Ruby. Green is “Full o’ sheep” 100% peruvian wool. I really like the difference in weight/texture.
Flower is made from some ivory acryclic yarn that I inherited from my grandma’s collection. The acrylic works well for more sturdy projects. The buttons are a few I took from my ridiculous collection of vintage buttons.
Since I am terrible at following patterns and am much more successful following videos online, I used a series of “Crochet Fingerless Gloves Tutorial” videos by MikeyssMail on YouTube. I’ve found there really is a shortage of thoroughly tought, good video quality videos on YouTube that ARE NOT tought by 85 year old ladies with ugly arthritic hands or annoying teenage girls that don’t really know what they are talking about. So, I have found his stuff pretty useful.
The rest of it I just sort of made up on my own, which surprisingly didn’t turn out too bad!
